Roosevelt Lodge & Cabins

Named for Yellowstone’s most famous booster, the Roosevelt Lodge facility includes 80 cabins in the Lamar Valley region. The cabins are as close to camping as you can get without setting up a tent: many have wood stoves and most do not have private bathrooms--though towels and toiletries are provided. The location offers some of the park’s best opportunities to see wildlife, and excellent fishing in the Lamar River. Horseback tours and stagecoach rides are offered at the Lodge.

What's Good
Offers the least expensive cabins in the park, and many visitors prefer the less-trafficked, more scenic and authentically western atmosphere.

What Could be Improved.
Nights can get chilly with only a wood stove for heat; only 14 of the 80 cabins have private bathrooms.

Who is it Good for?
Families with kids who want to try “roughing it” and will take advantage of the old-school tours; fishermen and those on the lookout for wildlife.

Amenities
No full bathrooms; private bathrooms for Frontier cabins only.
